Lake Samish Neighborhood Real Estate Info
Lake Samish Neighborhood – Bellingham, WA
Yes – you guessed it! Another neighborhood built around a lake in Bellingham, Washington. Lakefront property and bayside views are what Northeast Pacific living is all about. The Lake Samish neighborhood offers luxury real estate with sprawling views of Lake Samish, large lot sizes usually exceeding 1 acre and tremendous natural beauty. This should not be confused with Samish neighborhood that is north closer to downtown Bellingham.
Lake Samish is a 4-mile long lake that sits in the Southern portion of Bellingham, west of Lake Whatcom and even I-5. It gets its name from the Samish Native American Tribe that occupied the lake in pre-colonial days. It wasn’t until 1968, however, that Lake Samish Park was officially established and accompanied by a Whatcom County led dedication ceremony. The original Samish culture lives on today through the Samish Indian Nation.
In addition to Samish Lake’s rich history, it is a very special neighborhood to live in since homes take up almost all of the waterfront property surrounding the lake. In turn, the lake is very much enjoyed by its residents since public access to the grounds are very limited.
The Lake Samish neighborhood is also home to Lutherwood Camp and Retreat Center as well as Lake Padden Park which includes an 18 hole golf course. Residents can expect to find a close-knit community backed by the Lake Samish Association which currently hosts a newly formed Gardner’s Club!
All in all – Lake Samish is an excellent choice for homeownership! Be sure to speak with All Services Real Estate for active listing and additional neighborhood information.
