Sehome Neighborhood Real Estate Info

Sehome Neighborhood – Bellingham, WA

At just half a square mile, The Sehome Hill neighborhood is small but brilliant with history and full of character. Being one of the oldest Neighborhoods in Bellingham, Sehome Hill is filled with homes that date back to 1920. In fact, some of this older Real Estate operates as part of the nearby Western Washington University campus.

Sehome Hill gets its name from Chief Sehome and dates back to the year 1858. It now sits on the northeast bedrock of the 650 foot tall Sehome Hill. Homes tucked up within it enjoy views of Bellingham Bay to their west and Mount Baker to the far east.

A popular attraction and partly owned by the City of Bellingham and Western Washington University is the Sehome Hill Arboretum. Students and longtime residents enjoy access to the Huntoon Trail, Watch Tower, Quiet Rocks, The Old Quarry and Vertical Rock Walls.

As typical of all of the Bellingham neighborhoods, there is no shortage of outdoor adventure. Just north of Sehome Hill Arboretum is additional parkland, Laurel Park. It’s a simple playground area cornered between Laurel, High and Billy Frank Jr. Streets. It’s walking distance for residents on nearby blocks to bring young ones.

Excited about what this part college/part historical neighborhood has to offer? You’ll also have plenty of access to the Downtown Bellingham food scene just north of it! Give All Services Real Estate a call to get started on your Sehome Hill home search.
